Youth Development League (YDL)
This winter season will be running from January 5th to February 27th. We will be hosting the Championship Game for the U10-U16 division on Sunday, March 1st, location TBD.
Typically we run our Friday Game Days for the U10-U16 YDL teams out of Windsor Secondary School. Unfortunately for our winter season this gym is unavailable. Our Friday game days are TBD.
*There are no practices or game days on stat holidays or pro-d days. Occasionally we are able to reschedule to a different community centre gym on holidays but it is not a guarantee.
YDL (U8-U16) consists of two components. One is the skill sessions, where players learn the foundational individual basketball skills such as passing, dribbling, ball handling and of course shooting! The second component is our Game Day program, which is a great way for these kids to practice the skills they have learned during the week, in a game setting! We have exciting internal Game Days once a week, playing in teams against other kids within your age group. Our Youth development league program is a great place for basketball enthusiasts to practice and play. We provide a 1:1 ratio of practice to games in an environment that is fun, relaxed and approachable for players of any skill levels.
Our Miniball Program (U5-U7) is a great introductory course for your child to learn the basics of the sport, such as dribbling, ball handling and simple rules of the court. We focus on group physical activities that get the players moving and comfortable with a basketball in their hands. Depending on the skill level of the group we will have scrimmages as well but no official games until the U8-U10 league.
